The play area in the Wootton Brook / Ladybridge Park, West Hunsbury could have
a well deserved and overdue upgrade.
We are hoping to get at least £60k from West Northamptonshire Development Corp.
as part of the housing development, off Ladybridge Drive, which could be used for
Skate Board Park &/or Multi Use Game Area.
The Friends of Hunsbury Hill Country Park are also hoping to apply for Play Builder
Funds to provide much needed play equipment for 8 to 13 year olds.
Northampton Borough Council have also stated that the current climbing frame for
the under 8s, which is over 25 years old, will need replacing shortly.
Cllr. Richard Matthews says: “This is a project, long in the making. Some 6 or so
years ago, boys petitioned us to give them a skate board park, but the only problem
was that we had no money. Since then, a need for an all weather play area has been
identified to stop people playing football in Icknield Drive.”
